Mercedes stands out for having a strong commercial profile, management and excellence in teamwork.
She started working in IP in 1990, as part of the Trademarks team in an IP boutique firm. In 2001 she was part of a small group who opened the Intellectual Property Department in one of the largest firms in Buenos Aires, and over the years that small team grew exponentially. She is now a partner at BM+O since its creation in November 2017, and personally, she is proud to say that she is part of a project that began as a wish to grow professionally with “friends of the profession”, and finally materialized. She witnessed its gestation, birth and growth; creating a leading IP Firm.
Mercedes focuses on advising, representing both Argentine and international clients in all matters relating to Intellectual Property, such as: searches, legal opinions, prosecution, enforcement and monitoring of their trademarks, patents, models and industrial designs; administration of portfolios and cases related to domain names.
Academically, she takes part in international conferences where she is member of work committees within associations such as INTA (International Trademark Association), Marques (European Trademark Owners Association), and PTMG (Pharmaceutical Trademarks Group).
She states: “I like to be behind all my client’s matters, and I want them to feel that they have a professional in Argentina who always thinks of them and puts herself in their shoes whenever it is necessary to give them advice and opinions about their cases. I am a very organized person, I like team work and watch the professional growth of the people who work with me ".
